Great Canadian Bucket List “Grand Prize”

Rules and Regulations

The Great Canadian Bucket List Grand Prize giveaway contest (the “Contest”) is organized and administered by Esrocking the World Media Inc. (the “Contest Organizer”).

How to enter:

The Contest begins on Monday, October 13, 2013 and runs until February 15st, 2014. To enter, you must register with The Great Canadian Bucket List, and agree to its Terms of Use. All registrations will be entered electronically.  You can also subscribe at our live events by filling in the available forms.  These will be manually entered into the system.  All entries must be received by 11:59pm, February 15 2014, the Contest closing date.

Limit of one entry per person. Limit of one prize per entrant. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

The Contest is open to all permanent legal residents of Canada EXCEPT Quebec are eligible, providing they have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of registration , and that they are not employees of VIA Rail, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Tourism Vancouver, Tourism Toronto and the participating agencies, their advertising or promotional agencies or the independent judging organization or family members with whom these employees are domiciled. All entries become the property of the Contest Organizer.

Prize

There will be a total of one (1) prize available to be won which consists of:

  • Two (2) tickets on VIA Rail’s Canadian train in Sleeper Plus class in a Cabin for Two;
  • One (1) night complimentary accommodation at a Vancouver Fairmont property;
  • One (1) night complimentary accommodation at a Toronto Fairmont property;
  • One (1) “Experience Pass” for two to select Vancouver attractions courtesy of Tourism Vancouver; and
  • One (1) “Experience Pass” for two to select Toronto attractions courtesy of Tourism Toronto.

The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is five thousand Canadian dollars (CAD$5,000).

Travel documents such as passports, visas, travel insurance, etc. as well as airfare to/from any city are NOT INCLUDED. Taxes are NOT INCLUDED. Gratuities, alcoholic beverages and other items of a personal nature are NOT INCLUDED and are the responsibility of the winner and his or her travelling companion.

Your prizing is subject to availability and travel must be completed between February 15st 2014 and February 1st, 2015. Extensions will not be permitted. Advance notice of redeeming your prize is 14 days. Once your ticket has been issued by VIA Rail, the origin and destination cannot be changed.

Train tickets are not transferable, not refundable, and not good for resale or cash redemption.

Any violation of these conditions may result in cancellation of the Grand Prize and / or to any legal recourse available for the recovery of damages suffered or costs, expenses or loss incurred as a result of such prohibited use.

How to win

The entrant must fill the registration form and must check the box to agree to the terms and conditions. A random draw for the prize will be held among eligible registrations by the Contest Organizer on February 25th, 2014. Chances of winning will be dependent upon the number of eligible registrations received during the Contest period of October 13, 2013 to February 15, 2014. In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant must first sign a Winner’s Agreement (including a Release), agreeing, among other things, to the use of his or her name, photo, voice and/or statements without compensation other than the prize offered. By entering the Contest, all entrants agree to be bound by the Contest rules and agree to the decisions of the Contest Organizer with respect to all aspects of the Contest.

In the event that the person whose registration has been drawn does not qualify as the winner for any reason, the Contest Organizer reserves the right to draw another registration until a person is declared the winner under the rules of the Contest.

Other conditions

By entering the Contest, all entrants agree that the Contest Organizer reserve the right to substitute other prizes of equal or greater value should any portion(s) of the Grand Prize become unavailable for any reason, and to cancel the Contest at any time for any reason whatsoever including, but not limited to, printing or production errors pertaining to the Contest promotional materials, unavailability of the prize due to situations with prize suppliers which are beyond the reasonable control of  the Contest Organizer or if any virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Contest Organizer or its participating agencies corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest.

Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and, should such an attempt be made, the Contest Organizer reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

The Contest Organizer, VIA Rail Canada Inc. and their participating agencies are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received by the Contest Organizer or its participating agencies on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof, including any damage to the entrant’s or any other person’s computer, related to or resulting from downloading any materials relating to the Contest. Entrants release the Contest Organizer, VIA Rail Canada Inc., Fairmont Hotels and their respective employees, agents and representatives from any damages that could arise as a result of entering or attempting to enter the Contest, or accepting and using the Grand Prize.

The Contest Organizer and its participating agencies reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to modify the Contest rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Contest.

The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
